Frederick Frahm’s piano sonata Dominus Super Aquas: “The Lord over the Waters” is an early work in the composer’s catalog. In three movements, this music shows clear influences of the minimalist style of Philip Glass.
…the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep,
while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters…
…by the rivers of Babylon — there we sat down and there we wept when we remembered Zion…
..with joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation….
