My solo organ works are often inspired by non-musical media. Paintings, poetry, sculpture, geography, architecture and even a solar eclipse… all have elicited a musical response.
This music is composed for a variety of instruments, from the grand cathedral organ to a small parish organ like the modest 1868 Odell organ I used to play every week for church in Albuquerque. In each case, the specification of the organ informed the progress of the composition.
Sample pages from the individual works are below, along with links where you can order a complete copy for performance and study.
Carson Cooman, Composer in Residence to the Memorial Church at Harvard University, has prepared a foreword to this edition.
